Abstract
The contribution comprehends an explanation of basic terms concerning an employment social status in society. Approaches and clarifies a methodology of public opinion researches and its implementation in this field in the Czech Republic.
The text includes main results of the employment social status research that was done in June 2013 by the Center for public opinion research of academy of sciences of the Czech Republic. Special attention is paid to general nurse employment and its prestige.
From the research results, that the employment of general nurse belongs in between most esteemed professions in the Czech Republic as it ended up on the 3rd place out of 26 employments listed.
