Abstract

Over the last 30 years clinical pediatric electrophysiology has evolved into an important subspeciality of pediatric cardiology. The third expanded and updated edition of this monograph reflects fast clinical and technological developments in the field of diagbosis and therapy of rhythm disturbances in cchildren and adolescents.

Initial chapters include knowledge about the origin, recording and description of the pediatric electrocardiogram and about the reasons, diagnosis and therapy of arrhythmias. The specific part ofthe book is dedicated to the description of both normal heart rhythm as well as specific arrhythmias.

A large appendix involves normal limits of the pediatric electrocardiogram and cardia rhythm as well as information and practical guidance for several diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including dosage of antiarrhythmic drugs.
