Abstract
The aim of the contribution is to acquaint with a map, which is typical for the historical appendices published in Ortelius'atlas Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. It introduces the author Abraham Ortelius and his work.
Additional editions of Ortelius'atlas and appendices in the form of historical and biblical maps are explained. Significant was a supplement Parergon, which is considered to be the first historical atlas and which was also published separately.
Historical, biblical and cartometric analysis of the thematic map was made.
