Stroke (CMP) is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in developed countries. Ischemic stroke accounts for about 80% of all strokes, and 30-day mortality between 10 and 17% in patients with extensive lesions up to 75%.
The resulting condition of the patient after ischemic stroke is dependent primarily on the spot artery occlusion and recanalization rate her. Early recanalization is associated with a significantly higher chance of good clinical outcome after 90 days, with a significant reduction of mortality.
The team of authors, headed by two European-renowned neurologists, in his book acquaints doctors in the relevant fields with the latest methods of recanalization therapies such as intravenous thrombolysis, intra-arterial thrombolysis and combined, neurointervenční techniques (thrombectomy, angioplasty and stenting) or acute carotid desobliterace; other options endovascular (neurointervenční) treatment of ischemic stroke is potentiated by ultrasound recanalization of the occluded artery called sonolysis.
