Abstract
Diarrheal diseases are the most common diseases in the country. In 2012, it was reported a total of 43.813 diarrheal diseases.
The etiology of diarrhea in the Czech Republic is changing, especially rotaviral and noroviral infections and postantibiotic colitis caused by Clostridium difficile increase. The most frequent bacterial causative agent is Campylobacter.
In the treatment of diarrhea is crucial rehydration, diet., adsorbents and probiotics can be used. Antibiotic treatment is suitable only in indicated cases .
