Human dwellings used as places for wintering of insects

Abstract

This article provides examples of insects often hibernating in human dwellings (green lacewings - Chrysopidae, two-spot ladybug - Adalia bipunctata, seven-spotted ladybug - Coccinella septempunctata, multicolored Asian lady beetle - Harmonia axyridis, mottled shielbug - Raphigaster nebulosa). Invasive non-native western conifer seed bug - Leptoglossus occcidentalis - is also mentioned.
