How to study formation of political systems after the transition to democracy: possibilities and limitations

Abstrakt
The aim of this paper is to present the theories of the formation of political systems (rational choice theory, path dependence , theories which connect the types of transition and chosen political regime, impartial ideas and diffusion/ import theory) and judge their applicability on the case of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic in the time of transition to democracy and suggest the possibilities of research and it's limitations.
