Abstract
The morphological parameters of the carp heart in systole and diastole were examined. Systolic myocardium had more collapsed spongy trabeculae than the diastolic one.
Based on the morphological data, a mathematical model of the carp heart was developed. Effects of various parameters on stroke volume, work and ejection fraction were simulated.
