"Aestheticaly ambiguous and morally dirty?" The case of Český snář

Abstract

The paper focuses on discussions about the ethical aspects of edition the Ludvík Vaculík's literary diary in the totalitary Czechoslovakia milieu. There are two crucial questions: if was the author morally guilty and if he was responsible for possible consequences of this edition.

Tha basic approach of this paper is the perception of literature as the tool of (un)legitimization - the own and other's actions.
