The Concept of Mimesis in New Censorship Age

Publication at Faculty of Humanities |
2015

Abstract

The main issue of this paper is whether the rehabilitation of the concept of mimesis is possible in the age, which is well nigh dominated by a new censorship. Further the paper focuses on basic thesis of these two lines of theory by using the propositions of Lubomír Doležel and Roland Barthes on one hand and Pierre Bourdieu and Judith Butler on the other hand.

This paper shows, that the concept of mimesis need not to be an outdated way of interpretation of literary work not even in the new censorship age.
