The 15 th biannual meeting of the European Society for Primary Immunodeficiency took place in Florence, Italy in October 2012. This was by far the biggest meeting ever with more than 1800 participants.
This high number proves the interest and the importance of primary immunodeficiency disorders. During the meeting several new immunological entities were reported and mutations in pre - viously undescribed genes were found to cause diverse immunodeficiency conditions.
People from all over the world present their research and attention was also directed toward country registries from various part of the globe. As always, one of the main topics of the meeting was is new in therapeutics, such as new intravenous products, gene therapy and more.
