Abstract
In terms of coexistence of different nations, ethnicities and cultures is the year 1945 and the period immediately following the next major breakthrough in the development of society - not only for Prague but for Czech lands and Central Europe in general. For the period immediately following the surrender of German troops in May 1945, was originally used literary metaphor "zero hour" (literally Stunde Null), which expresses mixed feelings of helplessness and hope in the face of the terrible end of a devastating war.
Although Prague in comparison with other locations in central Europe has not suffered so devastating war damage, certainly it does not enter its population with the end of World War II in a rather peaceful period. Czech zero hour lasted over two years, the instruments used within social catharsis resembled more a continuation of the war and after the cleansing consensus started to fade also the fragile political system called Third Republic was being gradually disintegrated.
