Abstract

The recent wave of violent social and political conflicts rooted in the cultural and religious diversity raises the question of the need for revision of the exclusivist interpretations of the worldviews which serve as a source of inspiration for vicious ideologies that portray other religious, ethnic or cultural groups as not worthy of fundamental recognition as humans whose existence and autonomy is non-negotiable. In this chapter both reasons and resources for (non-relativistic) re-conceptualization of the approach to human diversity are explored.
