Abstract

Anatomical hemiarthroplasty of the shoulder joint is a procedure for which the functional outcome highly depends on correct indication, surgical technique and subsequent rehabilitation. Surgical technique differs for chronic degenerative diseases and traumatic conditions of the shoulders.

In these cases optimal reconstruction and fixation of the fixation of the greater and lesser tuberosity of the humerus with intact rotator cuff insertions is essential.
