Abstract

The paper is devoted to the development of nursing education, occupation gradual professionalization of nurses and the regulation itself. The first nursing courses outside the hospital were organized in 1874 as part of the first efforts for the emancipation of women.

Subsequently, in connection with changes in health care is to develop a skilled universal health care and the provision of qualified health care, which necessitated the need for skilled and educated nurses. This need has also brought about the emergence of regulation of nursing education and thereby the creation of nursing schools.

The transition from unregulated to fully regulated business law arose in the case of Czech nursing up in the 50s, and it can be considered successful. Only legal regulations issued in the 50s there was a formal separation of the nursing profession and nursing.

The year 1953 could be considered a real milestone in the conception of the nursing profession and for the formation of the nursing profession as a regulated profession.
