The second edition of the succesful monograph Clinical Nephrology published in 2006 has been completely redesigned. Two-thirds of the chapters have different authors and completely different text and one entirely new chapter was added.
The text is divided into 18 chapters. First, the new chapter, is given to the history of Czech and world nephrology.
In the next chapters kidney physiology, diagnosis, glomerulopathy, diabetic, hypertensive vascular and kidney disease, hereditary kidney diseases, urinary tract infections and interstitial nephritis are discussed. Following chapters deal with physiological and pathological renal changes during pregnancy, urological diseases leading to kidney damage and the kidney cancer.
The last five chapters discuss acute and chronic renal failure, its treatment, including hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation, the necessity to reduce medication in pacients with renal insufficiency and elimination of drugs during cleaning procedures.
