Abstract

Publication with the name Alain Resnais, Cinematography of the brain is a textbook with texts of Slovak, Czech and British authors and makes rapprochement to Renais production from different historical and theoretical aspects beginning with director's early short documentary movies until his his latest movie for the moment You Ain't Seen Nothing' Yet!. The renowned documentaries and feature films maker began his career in cinematography in the 50ies of the last century.

He began to manifest himself immediately by uncompromising point view, which brought him problems with censorship. At the beginning of the 60ies he manifested himself as a very gifted director discovering so far unused possibilities of the film art.

Division of the textbook is chronologic, 13 authors are showing their reflexion. This diversion especially allows us to feel Renais'creation from various point of views and from various methodological aspects and by the way to contribute to the interest about A.

Resnais work, which is wrongly perceived as a closed intellectual space. As a part of the publication is a register of names and naming.
