The article analyses one of five projects by the video artist Daniel Hanzlík called Permanent illusion of stability, presented at the exhibition Sources and Signals. Contemporary visual art is increasingly preoccupied with searching for peculiar contexts within the field of representation.
This process often relies on textual and verbal statements. Daniel Hanzlík prefers on the other hand purely visual concepts -the shadow of an ordinary stool is subdued to digital "oscillation", thereby emphasizing in this specific way the very presence of this object.
