Abstract
Pulp necrosis is a frequent consequence after a luxatory injury in the permanent dentition. The early diagnosis is a key in the prevention of extensive chronic periapical lesion development.
Regular X-ray follow-ups and clinical examinations should be the part of the trauma management. In the treatment of periapical pathology we preceded from the conservative therapeutical approaches to more invasive ones.
We focused on the elimination of subjective complaints, if presented, eradication of microoganisms from affected region and thus creating better conditions for the healing of periapical lesion itself. Common used surgical procedures which encourage healing of the bone defects are extensive, time consuming and patient's demanding.
It is advantageous to select among less invasive procedures which have the same result in a certain time period and are not so patient's demanding. The decompression procedure is such an example.
Our work deals with the clinical case of 16 aged girl experienced extensive periapical radiolucency. Pulp necrosis has developed as a result of trauma to upper central right incisor, was succesfully treated with decompression procedure and has healed without necessity of using radical surgical procedure.
