New Greek Amphorae Stamps from Emporion Pistiros

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2013

Abstract

New observations presented in the poster are based on the study seasons conducted in 2011 and 2012. During revisiting of the archive of the Archaeological Museum of Mieczysław Domaradzki in Septemvri several unidentified stamps were reinvestigated and determined.

Moreover, two stamps, newly discovered in the trenches of A. Gotzev were added to the assemblage (# K 3595 and # K 3594).

In total eight stamps have been determined including five Thasian and after one example from Peparethos and Ainos. The last stamp (# 1.2460), rather questionable, might be preliminarily classed to production of either Corinth (Koehler, 1978) or as well of Erythrai (Monachov 2012, 111-124).
