The iconography of Valečov castle in the 19th century. Valečov as the subject of art works of pilgrims and painters

Abstract

The article gives an overview of all known surviving drawings and paintings of Valečov castle during the 19th century. Twenty vedutas are submitted to an artistic and documentary evaluation.

The veduta artists are introduced in short resumes, including a short summary of the circumstances surrounding the formation of these iconographic sources.
