Abstract
The talk was focused on teaching ancient Greek at grammar schools in the Czech Republic. The situation is not so good and the lessons of ancient Greek are rather rara avis.
There are the lessons of ancient Greek at Spanish and Classical grammar school in Brno, at Academic Grammar School in Prague, and there used to be the Greek language in some form at Archiepiscopal Grammar School in Prague as well. This talk also introduced the ancient Greek textbook called Athenaze.
