Abstract
The paper summarizes the research focused on the part of body which is called noha / nohy in Czech. The theory of so called semantic profiles (also term from Polish linguistics) was used in this research.
The semantic profile is understood as a variation of the conception of the interpreted object. After analysis of large number of data four semantic profiles were set down: the appearance of leg / legs; leg / legs as a part of the human body; leg / legs as a means of movement; leg / legs as a means of the consolidation of the human body in space.
