The negotiations between the Furstenberg family and the State regarding the land reform on the Křivoklát manor

Abstract

The study foucuses on the Křivoklát region during the First Czechoslovak Republic. It deals with the communication between the Czechoslovak Republic represented by the State Land Administration on one side, and the family of Fürstenberg, the last private owners of the Křivoklát domain, on the other.

It deals with tax and social welfare burdens of the domain, and puts them into the context of the later sale of the estate. Firstly, the castle at Lány had been sold in 1921, when also the terms of executing the land reform had been negotated.

The core of the domain with the castle of Křivoklát was sold in June 1929. The study focuss on motives and ways of taking the property over by the state.
