Psychotherapy and neuroscience - two distinct words?

Abstract

Abstract: A connection between neuroscience and psychotherapy needn't be a variance of an old cartesian dualism. A dialogue of both disciplines brings many interesting challenges.

Psychotherapy has a chance to use recent neurobiological findings or neuroscientifical terminology with the aim of transtheoretical integration accross various psychotherapeutical approaches. This paper offers several neuroscientifical findings concerning human brain functioning relevant for therapeutic concepts.

It explains the unconscious implicit information processing and emotion regulation process. Neuroscience shows that psychotherapy significantly changes functions and structure of human brain.
