Abstract

This conference paper deals with an investigation of Ivan Medek by the Secret police (StB) in the second half of the 1950s. In 1957, Medek was found guilty that he hid a package of foreign currency for his friend who was prosecuted for selling American dollars and Swiss francs to his friends.

Ivan Medek was also found guilty that he obtained a certain amount of those dollars and gave them to another friend, who was travelling to Western Europe. Medek was also investigated because he illegaly kept in touch with his friend living in The Great Britain and because anticommunist material was found at his house.
