The aim of is article is to introduce impact of expectancy effects in school practisse (Pygmalion effect and Golem effect). Hypotheses regarding self-fulfilling prophecies and teacher expectations were tested in hunderts surveys.
Intensive classroom research in past 50 years has confirmed the Pygmalion and Golem effect among teachers. The paper brings an overview of results of expectancy effects surveys and summarizes consequences of this phenomenon in edu-cational practice.
