Abstract

The publication gives a comprehensive overview of the current state of basic professional knowledge on the etiology, incidence, diagnostic capabilities, epidemiological characteristics, and especially anti-epidemic preventive and repressive measures a broad spectrum of infectious diseases. To hundreds of infections are selected and included infection common in our European conditions and others that have epidemiological significance in other climatic zones, and are or may be for us only the introduction foreigners or people returning from a stay in these areas.

Infections are sorted alphabetically for easy look. The occurrence of exotic diseases is documented current cartograms.

The annexes to the common practice of the principles set out samples of biological material for microbiological testing, as well as selected existing legislation, which needs, a list of infections, in which orders the compulsory isolation and treatment, while valid vaccination calendar. The publication is intended for quick orientation practitioners, but also can be used as study material at undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the field of infectious epidemiology.
