The main objective of this paper is to analyse low-level temperature inversions (TIs), based on a dataset of atmospheric soundings from the aerological station at Prague-Libus. First, the homogeneity is carefully tested, both of the radiosonde data, and all inferred time series of TIs.
Secondly, diurnal and annual regimes are described. Thirdly, persistent surface-based inversions are analysed, incl. their synoptic forcing.
Lastly, the trends in TIs are analysed.
