Abstract
Subcapsular liver hematoma can cause a serious complication of the health condition. Especially premature newborn with very low and extremely low birth weight and babies after a trumatic delivery belong to the group fo high-risk patients.
The incidence of subcapsular hematoma is generally low, however, it is connected with a high mortality. The autors assessed the data of the past 15 years, they focused on the incidence and mortality of subcapsular hematoma of liver in newborns.
Finally there are presented two case reports of extremely premature newborns, whichdespite a dramatic development ended happily.
