Abstract
This article presents a comprehensive view of the current problem of gambling in Czechia, an activity that increased massively during the 1990s and which is not, as yet, regulated at the state level. The article examines some of the consequences gambling has on individuals (pathological gamblers), their surroundings and even society as a whole.
It also seeks to obectively and fairly consider the perspective of gambling equipment owners and operators. The text - along with supplemental materials on the internet - inform readers about available data concerning trends in the distribution, quantity and regulation of gambling in Czechia.
