Abstract

Contemporary political parties face many challenges in modern democracies when their environments have transformed due to political, social or economic changes. Generally speaking, parties have to face increasing critics and delegitimation.

They are supposedly/seems to be in a crisis along with the change of political participation, etc.. These facts are now well known from different perspectives, analyzed by many scholars from different disciplines.

Nevertheless, political parties stay in a privileged position of policy making in Europe. Traditional forms, processes, structures etc. are more or less changing, but parties tend in many ways to adapt themselves.

We are interested in how and where it happens and how the parties are able to respond. In this panel we will strongly emphasize transformations of actors and structures, especially the parties' organization, the advisory systems, the advisors themselves etc..
