The article deals with changes in social work in material need in the context of the reform. This reform began in 2011 changing the organizational structure of labour offices and to continued transition agenda of non-insurance social benefits that institution.
Social work in Labour Office of the Czech Republic at the beginning of 2012 narrowed to the administration and payment of social benefits, gradually expanded the social inquiry, the highest increase took place in September 2014. It is shown that all the established approaches were chosen clearly wrong, but fast, unprepared and poorly communicated caused widespread problems, which are still noticeable even today.
Also purposes in the context of ensuring control and increasing efficiency and direct social benefits will not be realized. Conversely, there were paying higher amounts and to increase the number of approved benefits in material need.
The paper is based upon analysis of documents, statistical indicators and it is accompanied depth semi-structured interviews.
