Abstract
This contribution deals with the features of the Portuguese colonial politics during the Salazar's regime in the years 1928-1968. It is based on the analysis of changes in this politics after the installation of the authoritarian regime and the development of the Portuguese approach to their colonies during the existence of the Portuguese New State.
The main focus is on the 1930s, when the era of reconstruction of the Portuguese Colonial Empire begun.
