Abstract
The monograph was published on the occasion of 25th anniversary of 17 November, 1989. It describes the phases of the communist experiment at the Faculty of Philosphy and Arts at the Charles University in Prague in the broader frameworks of social development.
On stories of students and teachers narrates the history, in which since 1948 have alternated periods of ideological pressure with periods of relative academic freedom. It discusses in detail the events in 1989.
