In his book The Father Zoja presents the phenomenon of fatherhood while blaming Christian thought for devaluing and jeopardizing fatherhood as a cultural institution. This essay is an attempt to present an alternative image of fatherhood which Zoja left unobserved.
It is also an attempt to refute some of Zoja's presuppositions against Christian thought by means of exegetical analysis of The Parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15.
