Ana Jenko Šterba-Böhm (1885-1936), first Slovenian female doctor in chemistry

Abstract

The article is a biographical study of Anna Jenko Štěrba-Böhm, who was the first Slovenian woman to obtain a doctorate in chemistry. Anna Jenko , married Štěrba - Böhm , studied at the Czech Charles-Ferdinand University in Prague since 1908; in 1911 she defended her doctoral thesis on "Studies on the determination and division of succinic acid, malic acid and tartaric acid." She stayed in Czechoslovakia until her death in 1936, her husband was a professor of the Faculty of Science, Charles University.
