The paper in the first place describes the irreplaceable role of the Deaf teachers in the education of the Deaf children, secondly presents some of preliminary results of a legwork, which was realised on January 2012 by students of Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, the study program Deaf Studies, under the guidance of autor of this paper. The research goal was to map the number and positions of the Deaf educators in educational system in the Czech Republic, mainly in the schools for the Deaf.
