After a period of stagnation of interest in them, which was mainly related to the development of the automobile, since the 1990s many architects and urban planners, geographers and sociologists have been dealing with the questions about public spaces.
Also, the public and politicians to focus more and more attention on them. The article offers an overview of the categories of urban public spaces with the focus on street.
In conclusion, it proposes a school project by which students should get the basic knowledge about public spaces and skills to evaluate their quality.
