Ctirad Kohoutek belongs to the most prolific Czech composers of the 2nd half of 20th century in the area of choral music for children. His originality is based on using modern compositional methods, e.g. serial technique, dodecaphony, aleatorism, polyrhythmics, polymetrics, new sound etc.
His pieces cover a broad spectrum from nursery thymes to the compositions of top cifficulty. Most of them are very well accessible and can enrich the repertory of children's choruses in an interesting way.
