Abstract

International migration in Argentina from the mid-19th century is highly differentiated. Basically we are talking about 3 major stages of international and internal migration in Latin America: the first is transatlantic immigration (the main flow in 1880-1930 and the last one after the 2nd World War); the second is rural-urban migration (about 100 mil. people migrated in period 1930-1980) and finnaly by the end of sixties is becoming to be increasingly important regional migration along emigration to other continents (e.g.USA, Italy).

The Argentina migration policy is described as well.
