Neuroendocrine tumours are a fascinating group of very heterogenous tumours with different clinical symptoms, histology, site of origin and prognosis. Their incidence is increasing all over the world.
The diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumours is not easy and very often comes late. Treatment modalities including surgery, local ablation of liver metastases, somatostatin analogues, interferon, chemotherapy and targeted therapy are discussed.
Multidisciplinary team care in specialized centres is strongly recommended.
