Abstract
This article reviews and critiques a major encyclopedia of developments within philosophy of sport over the past 40 years. It highlights key issues in current research (such as, technology and sport development, equality as a barrier to participation and competition, threats to sport from the operation of the market, etc.) and indicates some possible future directions for the discipline.
