Abstract

Asthma control can be succesfully achieved in the majority of patients who are compliant to therapy. Asthma control is defined as a the level of control of the asthma symptoms such that it can be obtained with the least possible treatment intensity.

Tiotropium is currently a new treatment option in asthma patients uncontrolled despite therapy of moderate doses of inhaled corticosteroids and long-acting beta-2-agonists.
