This article presents one aspect from the dissertation of Iva Rezková. It is a study of one type of language contact typical of current Dutch: intrasentential code switching between Dutch and English.
The research took a strictly grammatical approach and was focused on the structure of Dutch sentences containing switched English elements. The aim of this article is to summarize the general theory about code switching morphology, and then to describe morphological aspects observed in a linguistic corpus which contains 450 examples of Dutch-English code switching.
