The objective of this report is to show the changes of mechanical parameters of hairs found that come up during gravidity. The hair shaft consists of three concentric layers: the cuticle, the cortex and the medulla.
Each of these components has different structure and function. The cuticle protects the inner parts from the outer environment and from derogation caused by daily treatment.
The cortex (90 % of the hair) determines mechanical properties of the hair, and the medulla can sometimes be completely absent
