What holds Society Together? The Concepts of Societal Community and Constitutional Symbolism in the works of Talcott Parsons, Richard Münch and Jeffrey Alexander

Abstract

The books tries to answer the question: "What holds society together?" by using theoretical conceptual tools of Parsonisan functionalist sociology. I work exepcially with Parsons's concept of societal community and then I try to reconstruct this concept by using thouhts of others authors (Jeffrey Alexander, Richard Münch, Shmuel Eisenstadt, David Lockwood, Stein Rokkan, Lewis Coser and John Rawls).
