Pituitary tumours with clinically significant hormonal overproduction belong mostly to rare diseases. Their diagnosis, differential diagnosis and management is connected with many problems similar to those of other rare diseases.
Moreover, there are very often not in the centre of attention of pharmaceutical companies and some medicaments are not easily available and physicians are facing a lot administrative load and obstructiions from health care providers and insurance companies. Present article reviews main clinical entities and shortly characterize problems connected with their management.
