Publication at Faculty of Education |
2015

Abstract

The aim of the methodological study is to present the adaptation and psychometric properties of a Czech version of a questionnaire focused on the assessment of intercultural communicative competence to a Czech professional public. It is the YOGA questionnaire which was developed in a team led by prof.

Alvino Fantini in USA. The questionnaire is an exceptional instrument due to its connection to clearly defined theoretical rationale as well as its availability.

We thus decided to present the process of creation of the Czech version and its qualitative and quantitative verification the aim of which was to characterize its parameters in the Czech environment. The questionnaire return rate was 78 %.

Available sampling was applied. Analytical procedures were made in the IBM SPPS Statistics version 21, namely exploratory factor analysis, Pearson correlation coefficients and Cronbach's alpha.

The outcomes brought rather positive results regarding the quality of the YOGA questionnaire.
