The Dissolution of the multinational states in Central and Eastern Europe in the 1990s: Causes and Consequences

Abstract

The essay explains why the multinational states are unstable and why they split. The problem is explained on the example of Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and tzarist Russia as well as the USSR, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia.
